Frank Tavares is an English and Astronomy double major at Amherst College. His work focuses on considering the colonial implications of space exploration through science fiction and interactive narrative, the subject of his senior thesis. He has experience in theater as an actor, playwright, director, stage manager, and producer. He was born in San Diego, CA and lived in Brasilia, Brazil and New Delhi, India before arriving at Amherst. When not at school, he works with the Public Affairs Office at NASA’s Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley, writing on topics ranging from planetary science and astrobiology to aeronautics.
