Lauren Tuiskula

Lauren Tuiskula is a recent graduate of Amherst College where she earned a B.A. in English with a concentration in Digital Humanities.  During her time at Amherst, she was a Five College Digital Humanities Fellow for 2016-17. She will serve as a post-baccalaureate fellow for the Amherst College English department beginning in July of 2017.

As part of her Five College Digital Humanities Fellowship, she completed an undergraduate thesis focused on digitality in Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Americanah. She also remains interested in journalism, and served as the editor-in-chief of Amherst College’s student-run newspaper, The Amherst Student, for a year. In the future, she hopes to continue to pursue the possibilities of digital humanities and find more opportunities to open her mind to new worlds through literature, ideally studying the intersections between black and indigenous studies.
